It's been a long wait, but the new LizQuen movie is finally gaining ground!

Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina and stars Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano had their new project's story conference today, September 20 at the Star Cinema offices where they revealed some very exciting details about the movie.

It is LizQuen's first big-screen project with Direk Cathy, and Liza disclosed that it will possibly be out in cinemas this year!

Here are some exciting things we can look forward to about the love team's new offering:

1. The movie is a rom-com.

The trio revealed that the new LizQuen movie is going to be a romantic comedy, out to give audiences a good laugh and a good dose of kilig.

"We wish na sana makagawa kami ng pelikulang papakiligin kayo ulit ng LizQuen," Direk Cathy shared.

"Very light lang siya," Enrique added, "very now 'yung story namin, very modern, very young. Very close to our heart."

2. This movie will feature some "kakaibang kilig"

"Kada pelikula, dahil bagong characters, bago rin ang kwento, bago rin ang kilig," Direk Cathy shared. "So I suppose the brand of the new kilig will come from the new kwento also."

Direk Cathy also emphasized that the new movie's characters are those that LizQuen fans have yet to see Enrique nor Liza play in the big screen.

"Laman na ng TV itong mga 'to for the past how many months? Seven? Eight? Prior to that they had a very successful movie also na 'Everyday I Love You.' Gusto natin sana na 'wag makita 'yung mga characters na 'yun sa bagong pelikula na 'to," the box office director explained.

3. Enrique is playing a "womanizer," while Liza is portraying a quirky lady.

"May pagka-womanizer ang dating," Quen said about his new, so far unnamed character. "Para siyang womanizer na into real estate."

Meanwhile, Liza is venturing into improving her comedic skills with this role - a challenge that the young actress feels nervous about.

"Kasi sabi ni Direk Cathy ako 'yung kailangang nakakatawa dito eh, so mahihirapan ako doon kasi hindi ako 'yung funny sa aming dalawa [ni Enrique] eh." Liza said, to which Direk Cathy added:

"Sana we can create a new quirky Liza."

In spite of their challenging new roles, Enrique and Liza both feel excited to step into their characters' shoes.

"What I like about the role is dahil it's very now," Quen said, "'Yung mga situation nila is very young. Siguro na-experience ngayon lang, sa mga kabataan ngayon, sa generation natin, ngayon na 'di na-experience before. It's gonna be interesting."

4. LizQuen is in no rush to be more "mature"

Enrique has described the new project as a "feel good movie," but the trio hinted that the movie will have something new to add to the rom-com genre.

Direk Cathy said, "Pa-comedy tayo dito, pa-kilig kasi hindi naman minamadali ang pag-mature ng dalawang batang to."

"And it doesn't mean na because we want them to mature in terms of acting, we will give them drama," Direk stressed.

"Mas madaling magpaiyak, kesa magpakilig at magpatawa," the director further noted.

5. New movie, new looks?

"Si Liza and si Quen, they also want to look different everytime they come out." Direk Cathy said, "Ibabagay natin sa character nila."

The director also joked that there are some huge hair changes in the horizon for LizQuen. "Siyempre wig 'yan lagi, ako 'to eh!" she said in jest.

Watch out for more updates on the new LizQuen movie!
